My Story
Hi there,
I'm Kathryn, an accountant, entrepreneur, and veteran.
After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2009 with a degree in Engineering, I served seven years as a Naval Flight Officer. In Annapolis, I met my husband, Zack, who graduated with a degree in Mathematics and served as a Marine Corps Logistics Officer. Zack and I worked toward financial independence and spent two years traveling around the world after our service.
After our travels, we chose to land in Spokane. Here I have worked in HR and People Operations and as an Accountant at a high-growth tech startup and our own local restaurant and food service business. I've set up all manner of HR, payroll, and accounting processes. Discovering I loved the puzzles of small business accounting and finance I decided to go back to school. In 2023, I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master of Business Administration concentrating in Finance.
As a business owner multiple times over, I know how intertwined work life and personal life can be - and how having a strong sense of your books can provide confidence in decision-making. I know compliance, taxes, and all of the admin required just to stay in business can be daunting when you'd rather focus on your core business. Whether you just need one-time help, monthly services, or a major messy clean-up I'm happy to help! If I can't responsibly help you to an excellent standard I'll recommend someone who can.
